With Survivor Series right around the corner, this will be the first time WarGames debuts with the main roster. The stipulation was previously introduced on NXT in 2017 and 2018, but was never introduced to WWE’s primary brands. Wargames are essentially a match between two teams where the members compete in two wrestling rings placed side-by-side in a steel cage.

Wargames were first introduced to the NWA in 1987 by Dusty Rhodes. After Jim Crockett’s promotion rebranded as WCW, Wargames was held annually at Fall Brawl’s pay-per-view event. Survivor Series Wargames will feature two major tournament matches this year for both the men’s and women’s divisions.

The WWE Hall of Famer remembered when Triple H played wargames to Vince McMahon

Speaking on his Oh… You Didn’t Know podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and current Senior Vice President of Live Events Road Dogg recalled Triple H’s previous pitch to introduce WarGames at Survivor Series 2019.

According to him, Triple H had always planned to have the match but Vince McMahon thought the Wargames steel cage match could beat the Hell in a Cell match.

“I think Hunter liked that match a lot more than Vince. And I think Vince thinks, and by the way, that can’t be argued with, he steps on Hell in a Cell a little bit.” Road Dog said.

Then-boss Vince McMahon believed that promoting two big cage matches could make either match feel special. Now that Triple H has taken the reins as Chief Content Officer, he has already made many changes to the company.

It remains to be seen how deep the fan response will be as we look forward to Saturday’s first ever WarGames match featuring wrestlers from major brands.

Fans express disappointment over Mia Yim’s placement at Wargames over Sasha Banks

Mia Yim has officially joined babyface Team Bianca and finds herself a mystery contender to lock horns with Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss and Team Damage CTRL which also features Bayley, Dakota Kai, Io Skye, Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripple.

In case you didn’t know, Sasha Banks and Naomi have been out of action for months after their infamous walkout on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Below are some reactions from fans on Twitter.
