Match card, prediction and heat index expectation level

(Currently as advertised; card always subject to change)

Temperature scale = burning > hot > lukewarm > Temperate > Chili > cold > Freezing

The heat index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud is. The hotter, the better. Scorching means can’t wait to see it, while freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and I think it’s going to be awful.

Men’s Wargames Match:
The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Solo Sequoia and The Usos) vs. Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens and The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland)

Heat Index = burning
Forecast: The bloodline is lost.

Thoughts: Check out all the talent involved here. Wow! This is going to be a lot of fun. The Brawling Brutes are going to make it rough, McIntyre and Owens are going to look strong coming out of it, The Bloodline is going to lose because Roman Reigns doesn’t need to take a loss, Sami Zayn’s story with Owens continues and possibly starts driving him and a wedge between The Bloodline… great thing

Women’s Wargames Match:
Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Michin and ??? Vs. Damage Ctrl (Bailey, Dakota Kai & Iyo Skye), Nikki Cross & Rhea Ripley

Heat Index = hot
Forecast: Team Bianca wins.

Thoughts: Without knowing the final members of Bianca’s team, it’s hard to have a favorite in this match. I fully expect that last person to be Becky Lynch. This makes me think the babyface team will win so Bellar can move on and stop fighting with Damage CTRL. But Rhea Ripley easily defeated Rhea Ripley to restore her as the No. 1 contender, and the match with Baylor was stopped. It’s 50/50 for me.

Singles Match:
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor

Heat Index = cold
Forecast: AJ Styles wins.

Thoughts: What was all that leading up to at WrestleMania? A normal singles match between two guys who have already fought, after finally being set 4 on a proper 4? lame Look, I get it. Styles and Balor are great in the ring. A match in a bubble will be a fun episode if you turn off your brain and forget everything that happened. But the style and the wholeness of this angle in The Judgment Day, 2022 is huge.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match:
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Shotzi Blackheart

Heat Index = Freezing
Forecast: Ronda Rousey won.

Thoughts: It pains me to say this, but Shotzi is in no condition to play this match. Not only has she built her credibility right from the big losses she’s suffered since joining the main roster, she also had a terrible matchup with Shayna Baszler last week. There is no way Ronda Rousey is going to lose the title, especially not now and especially not to Shotzee. So if I don’t think the match is going to be good and I’m not looking at any chance of a title change, and I’m not digging the setup, what’s the point of hyping it up?

United States Championship Triple Threat Match:
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Austin Theory vs. Bobby Lashley

Heat Index = hot
Forecast: Seth Rollins won.

Thoughts: son Mustafa Ali must be feeling bad right? He gets humiliated regularly and doesn’t even get to be a 4-way threat in this matchup. It shows where it is in the hierarchy. Lashley doesn’t win this, but I can see either The Theory or Rollins winning. This gives him a leg up, as unpredictability can be the price of some big hype. All three kids are talented, so there’s that. I’m down for it, even though the setup is messy.

Total PPV:
How excited am I for the whole event?

Heat Index = hot

Thoughts: I’m not sure a match will be half as good. Another one I’m not into, but regardless of what causes it, the in-ring competition should be good. One match that should be rock solid and two Wargames matches? It feels like a hot out is balanced for me.
