Welcome to another Monday morning Q&A where I throw some questions to see how you guys and gals feel about certain topics.
So here are 5 questions I want to throw out for this week. I will also give my answers, but the main thing here is that I want to know what you think! So make sure you come in!
1) If you had to give the MVP trophy to one wrestler from Full Gear, who would it be?
Credit goes to a lot of people who put on a great show, of course, but if we’re going to narrow it down to just one, it has to be MJF.
In the grand scheme of things, as much as I enjoyed Jungle Boy’s Luchasaurus or Chris Jericho’s four-way or anything similar, the biggest talking point is still MJF. And not only did he main event and win the biggest prize, he did a great job of selling the babyface dynamic throughout the match.
It was pretty perfect. Hats off to many, but the award goes to MJF.
2) What are your predictions for the announced matches for Dynamite?
- Now that MJF has become a heel again, I think Ricky Starks has surpassed Ethan Page.
- Orange Cassidy retained the All-Atlantic Championship over Jake Hager.
- Chris Jericho retained the ROH World Championship over Tomohiro Ishii.
- The next match in the best of 7 series is won by the Death Triangle as everyone will expect the Elite to come out in full gear to face their defeat.
3) What matches do you think will be added to the Survivor Series card?
I guess the World Cup won’t end in time to get Gunther on the card against Braun Strowman. Then again, since this is a Fox thing, I guess they never want that on Peacock Stream. It will always be a Smackdown television defense.
Most champions are already tied to something. If we get a United States Championship match, that’s the only other one outside of Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship. Seth Rollins is a safe bet in a Fatal 4-Way against Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley and Mustafa Ali. Or, maybe they nux Ali and do a triple threat.
It was Dexter Loomis Vs. The Miz is staying up. I don’t think it’s warranted to have Matt Riddle and Elias vs. Alpha Academy on the card.
Maybe it will happen at LA Knight vs. Bray Wyatt? At least I’d like it better than another Wyatt promo.
4) Last call. Who is the final member of Bianca Bellar’s team for WarGames?
Although Candice LeRae, Dana Brooke and Raquel Rodriguez and others have had issues with Damage CTRL, I think we’re only seeing two names. If Becky Lynch isn’t ready to go, I think we’re seeing Beth Phoenix return so she can – in a sense – face off with Rhea Ripley.
Between those two options, I’m firmly in the camp that it’s Lynch. They are waiting for a big deal and they can bring in the biggest name to do it. Plus, she went into SummerSlam with Damage Ctrl’s debut, so that makes sense.
5) What do you think of the Iron Survivor Challenge concept?
It looks messy. I’m not sure it will work. There are too many factors to keep track of to make it feel natural and a simple enough match to book. You have to try to balance surprise entrants with some people in the penalty box and only for 90 seconds, i.e. when the crowd is getting used to them. Are they coming back to be in the match?
In my opinion, it seems like it would be more effective if they at least started everyone at the same time. Then, have a penalty box, but do it every 2 minutes, and this means that if you take damage, you have an even bigger deficit to come back from, and you’re wasting time that could have earned you points. .
If you only have 5 minutes left in the match and you need to score all those points, it’s very unfair, and it’s probably hard to believe that trying to book someone to come in to score on that score. .
I’m also just not a fan of the name. He is smart.
