Kevin Owens is a big doubt for Survivor Series at WWE house shows over the weekend.

Initially it was feared that the injury could be more serious so this is good news in a sense. However, a KO loss would be a huge blow to the event when it looks like he will be featured in the first-ever main roster Wargames match.

Leaving a spot in the presumed team of Drew McIntyre and The Bruising Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch) to face The Bloodline, the prospect of Owens taking on Sami Zayn was extremely exciting for all wrestling fans.

Owens’ initial plan was to help his old friend when The Bloodline turned on their Honorary Uce, but Zayn Roman Reigns and co. All this was put on hold for a while, how well he was interacting with them.

Hopefully KO can bring it back for Survivor Series and continue his story with Sami, but if not, who could step up? GiveMeSport Survivor Series takes you through 8 possible variations of Kevin Owens in WarGames…

8. Carmelo Hayes

Hayes is being touted for a main roster call up and where better than Survivor Series, facing a dominant group in the industry. A two-time NXT North American Champion, he will face Wes Lee for the same title. Lose that matchup and a call-up seems more likely.

7. Braun Breaker

The real-life Steiner has had a wrestling career like few others in recent memory. Just over a year into his reign, he is in his second run as NXT Champion and is a definite future World Champion.

His hard-hitting style drew Drew, Sheamus and co. And a one night call up would set the stage for a final singles match with Roman. Breaker also competed in the last NXT Wargames match, following in the footsteps of his father Rick and uncle Scott.

6. Ricochet

One of the most underutilized talents in all of WWE, but there’s no doubting Triple H’s time together in NXT. Ricochet competed in his second WWE Wargames match with Butch, now known as Pete Dunne. Time to partner once again.

Also, the match lacks high-flyers as currently constructed so who better than Ricochet to add some wow factor to the proceedings.

5. Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura has been spinning his wheels in WWE for a while now, with no meaningful long-term storyline to speak of. It’s a shame when his undoubted star power and fan connections are put to good use.

However, he has a history with The Bloodline. He is a former ally of Sami Zayn, challenged The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Titles in a match where his partner Rick Boogs was injured, and had several runs with the group following WrestleMania. Elevating Shinsuke again in this match would make a lot of sense.

4. Austin Theory

A-Town has had a rough time since Triple H took over. He has lost several matches and most recently had a failed Money in the Bank cash-in on Seth Rollins for the US Championship. This week on Raw, he said it was impossible to stop Roman Reigns given the protection he received from the Usos, Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa.

Siddhant had tried to do this before but was stopped. After Vince leaves, the tribal chief tells him “your father is not here anymore”. Throw in his recent interactions with KO, and there seems to be a real character change coming for Theory. Could this kickstart Survivor Series?

3. Rey Mysterio

Like Ricochet, Rey can add wow factor to any match, let alone a double steel cage with weapons. Since moving to Smackdown, he has yet to feud with anyone. It will be an exciting time to do so and reward one of the all-time greats with a main event match.

Mysterio also has plenty of history with Bloodline losing the SmackDown Tag Titles to the Usos at WrestleMania 37 and then losing the Hell in a Cell to Roman Reigns for the Universal Title in June 2021.

2. Matt Riddle

Riddle has had serious problems with The Bloodline since WrestleMania 39. He faced Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania: Reigns and The Usos: Backlash and then lost a unification tag match to Jimmy and Jey a few weeks later.

He has recently tried and failed to take the uncontested WWE Universal Championship from Rins. Teaming up with Drew to take down the group on Survivor Series seems like a logical next step. This would introduce Riddle as a more serious character, as he was in his feud with Seth Rollins.

1. Seth Rollins

Speaking of Rollins, the United States Champion seems the obvious choice to replace his frenemy Kevin Owens. He became a babyface last week with a double turn with Bobby Lashley, and of course he has a long, storied history with Roman Reigns.

Reigns has never defeated Rollins in a singles pay-per-view match, which Seth no doubt did during the build-up to the match, similar to what Seth did prior to his Universal Title match at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.

Rollins must still exact revenge on his former Shield brother for choking him and disqualifying him during that match. Wargames seems like the perfect place to do that.
