Multiplayer games are fun and all, but every now and then, gamers just need some ‘me time’ and want to dive into a single-player adventure.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in a solo title, these are the best single-player video games to help you get the most out of your sweet solitude.

Hitman 3

PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, S|X, Nintendo Switch

Take a solo trip around the world without leaving the comfort of your sofa.

As Agent 47, you are tasked with killing the target… but how you do it is entirely up to you.

From Dubai to Berlin, blend in with the crowd and/or get distracted to meet your goals. Best of all, you can replay the stage and try completely different paths.

Tip: Save often!

Final Fantasy VII Remake

PC, PlayStation 4|5

This is a perfect example of a video game remake.

Square Enix used only the first episode of the original 1997 legendary JRPG, but expanded the story throughout the 50+ hour game.

A must play even for those who have replayed the classic many times, especially since the story has undergone some changes and the combat has switched to real-time action.

Pokemon Famous: Arceus

Nintendo Switch

Forget everything you know about Pokemon games.

Catching Pokemon now happens in real time and there is even a chance to be ‘attacked’ by them!

Go wherever you want in the Hisui region. It’s one of the best, if not the best Pokemon title out there. Hopefully the upcoming Scarlet and Violet games live up to the hype.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

PC, PlayStation 4|5

When the 2018 Spider-Man title released for PS4, it was amazing – the story, the combat, the open world, the side missions… * Chef’s Kiss.

Miles Morales picks up where the first game left off with the same great cinematic storytelling and more content to play with.

The original is being sold at bargain-bin prices on the carousel, so be sure to pick that up as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Nintendo Switch

Can’t believe it’s been five years since this game was released. Breath of the Wild is one of the must-buy games for the Nintendo Switch.

Travel the massive open world as Link as you search for Korok Seeds and take down Guardians.

The sequel is coming in May 2023 – plenty of time to catch you up.

Disco Elysium

PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, S|X, Nintendo Switch

This isn’t a traditional RPG with no combat – the story is resolved through skill checks and dialogue.

You’ll be captivated by the compelling story and characters in this point-and-click adventure that’s goofy and dark.

If you are the type who enjoys trying something new and likes to expect the unexpected, definitely pick this one up.

Ragnarok God of War

PlayStation 4|5

Remember discussing God of War with your friends back in the PS2 days? Talk about level-up – the new God of War games are gorgeous and still keep the combat brutally awesome (and incredibly brutal).

Travel to an ancient world inspired by Norse mythology alongside Kratos’ son, Atreus, in one of the best PlayStation titles to date.

Play the 2018 game first if you have time.

Horizon: Forbidden West

PlayStation 4|5

Essentially part two of Horizon Zero Dawn (which you should also get BTW) has you playing as Aloy as she saves the world from robot dinosaurs.

Pick up new gear as you visit different colonies. Climb, swim and even fly through lush valleys, dry deserts, snow-capped mountains, tropical beaches and ruined cities.

Don’t blame us if you never want to leave your front door for the next few weeks.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, S|X, Nintendo Switch

Binged The Witcher on Netflix? The original video game that the show is based on is one of the best RPGs of all time.

Like Henry Cavill, you can become Geralt of Rivia and roam the world called Continent. Apart from the variety of enemies you face, the complex storyline keeps Wild Hunt on our list – even the side stories are connected to the main story.

For an old game, it holds up well.

Alden Ring

PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, S|X

The best single player video game on this list, it’s also a title that might make you throw the disc out the window.

But that Shiok Feeling like beating a really tough boss? You can’t get it in another game.

Explore the epic fantasy world created by George RR Martin and really Customize your character, not just how they look, but how they fight.

The biggest mystery is how this video game only costs $60.
