For the first time, WWE’s Survivor Series events will feature WarGames, a match concept popularized by World Championship Wrestling and later established in NXT.

For anyone unfamiliar, WarGames is a type of steel cage match that consists of two rings with a rectangular cage surrounding both. This year, both the men’s and women’s wargames will feature two teams of five; Although sometimes a match may have two or three teams of three to five wrestlers per team.

Although the history of this match type dates back to the 80s, it wasn’t until 2017 that the first WWE-branded WarGames match took place. Obviously, there are some current WWE Superstars who have never competed in this style. to match

With that said, here are five current WWE Superstars who have never set foot in WarGames… yet, yet.

#5. Bayley, the longest reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion

The longest-reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion in WWE history has been among her special attractions over the years, but WarGames has largely eluded her thus far.

That won’t be the case after Survivor Series, as Bayley will compete in this year’s WarGames match alongside Damage Ctrl, Nikki Cross and another fighter Bianca Bellaire, Asuka, Alexa Bliss and two others. Fighters that will be revealed at a later date.

Although she was unsuccessful in her latest attempt to regain the Raw Women’s Championship, a win over Bianca’s team at Wargames could be a huge consolation prize, eh?

#4. Austin Theory, former Mr. Money in the Bank

Well, he could have successfully cashed in and become the youngest world champion in company history. He could have made another trip back to NXT to defeat Braun Breaker. Alas, he paid Seth Freakin Rollins and walked away with nothing.

Instead of the United States title, it was all Theory was hit by Bobby Lashley and Rollins’ stomps that sealed his fate. As of now, no announcement has been made regarding who will compete in the Men’s Wargames match.

Still, all the commotion between Rollins, Lashley and Austin Theory might be a sign that they’ll be involved. If they are, this would make for a first Wargames match of the theory.

#3. Alexa Bliss, a former tag champ who has not returned

Will she or won’t she? That’s the question many fans have been asking after the ever-so-subliminal images surrounding Alexa Bliss. Like the aforementioned Bayley, Bliss will also be competing in the WarGames structure – a first for the five-time women’s champion.

While it looks like her ongoing rivalry with Damage CTRL is over, Alexa’s next storyline could involve an old friend turned bitter nemesis in Uncle Howdy/Bray Wyatt.

As of now, nothing has been confirmed, so it might just be all about keeping fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation of what’s to come. Then again, maybe we’ll see a turn from Little Miss Bliss to a whole different level.

#2. Matt Riddle, the original Bro

In other news, it looks like Matt Riddle and Elias are on the way to starting a band! While it has not been clarified whether this new angle will serve as a side story or a main arc, it is apparent that Riddle and The Bloodline are still enemies.

The latest edition of Raw featured a six-man tag team match in which Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Matt Riddle took on Solo Sequoia and The Usos.

If WWE plans to rekindle the Riddle/Bloodline feud, it’s likely they’ll all be involved in a Men’s Wargames match. As it happens, this is the first time Matt has participated in this type of match.

#1. Mia Yim, WWE’s new returning superstar

The latest edition of Monday Night Raw featured the surprise return of Mia Yim. The NXT alumni aligned themselves with The OC and wore out Rhea Ripley with a kendo stick.

There are still a few slots left for a Women’s Wargames match, and while it’s not a 100 percent guarantee, Rhea and Mia could be added to the mix. As it turns out, Yim has technically competed in this type of environment for the first time.

In this case, the term technically means a lot, as Mia was scheduled to compete in the 2019 Women’s WarGames match before being attacked backstage by Dakota Kai.
