Osprey Games (an imprint of Bloomsbury Publishing) is looking for a highly skilled, creative graphic designer to join their team and work on their award-winning portfolio of board games, wargames and roleplaying games such as ‘Undaunted: Normandy’, ‘Cryptid’. ‘ and ‘Stargrave’, based in the Oxford office as part of the production team.

role

  • Creative lead on all components and packaging for board games and design and layout for wargaming books
  • Working with editorial, production, sales and marketing teams to briefs and deadlines
  • Managing concept delivery at cover meetings and all subsequent stages of the design process
  • Meeting critical design and sales dates for cover use across all Bloomsbury platforms
  • Applying necessary corrections and changes at all proofing stages as required
  • Updating all internal systems as required and monitoring key dates for delivery of all artwork

Knowledge, skills and experience

Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

Excellent communication skills

Previous experience designing packaging for board games, wargaming and/or roleplaying games and content

Previous graphic design experience in a game/publishing related environment

Creatively driven by deadlines, with attention to detail

Interest in table-top gaming in general

Additional information

This role is a full-time, permanent position and is based in our Oxford office, Kemp House, Chawley Park, Commoner Hill. Oxford OX2 9PH, on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).

Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday.
