Warzone developers Raven Software released a patch on July 28 to release the Season 4 Reloaded patch notes, buff sniper rifles, and some bug fixes.

Warzone Pacific Season 4 Reloaded arrived on July 27, bringing the new Vargo-S assault rifle, the Rebirth of the Dead mode, and the Titanium Trials mode later in the season.

It didn’t take long for devs Raven Software to drop another update, with the second patch coming on July 28th. This update tweaks every sniper rifle in the game and delivers on the Serpentine nerf teased in the patch notes.

Sniper Rifles in Warzone updated on July 28th

Warzone’s sniper rifles received a major nerf in the Season 3 update, reducing their range and removing certain weapons’ ability to one-shot headshots at any range.

This one-shot-headshot range is now increased across the board, so faster sniper rifles should be more effective — especially on Rebirth and Fortune Keep. But, heavy snipers are still needed to get into the caldera.

Serpentine perk nerfed in Warzone July 28 update

Players have complained about Serpentine since its arrival in Season 3 Reloaded, claiming it to be the “best” perk added to CoD.

After the Season 4 Reloaded update, Raven kept his promise and reduced his damage from 20% to 15%, where he is “still a valuable perk, but has less impact on average TTK.”

Weapon adjustment

Since the update to Sniper in Season Three we have seen a positive change in kill metrics. Aggressive snipers vs heavier were intended to lean towards smaller maps more suited to larger maps. Our data shows that despite low adoption rates (~9.5%) snipers are still being recognized for competitive kill rates compared to more popular classes of weapons.

However, we tend to lean towards the weapon to map identities more rigidly, and so on All snipers receiving an approx 35% bonus up to their maximum damage range. Lighter rifles, with their damage range builds, will now more reliably cover certain lines of sight found in Rebirth Island and Fortune Keep. The goal is not to revert to the fastest ADS Snipers as the dominant weapon in all scenarios – so if things start to trend that way, we’ll make targeted changes to the other stats of those stand-out weapons.

  • Damage reduction reduced from 20% to 15%

We have seen positive adoption of Serpentine in loadouts and the increase in average encounter duration. We’re reducing bonus damage so that it’s still a valuable perk, but has less impact on average TTK. We will monitor this space closely and make further adjustments as necessary.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to exploit weapons trading stations.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Deployable Buy Stations to remain active in gas – allowing unexpected exploits.
  • Fixed an issue where the Zombies Mastery Camo section was not available in Skål Crusher (VG).
  • Fixed an issue that caused incorrect unlock criteria to appear for “The Vault” vehicle skin in the vehicle customization menu.
  • Fixed a collision issue with AI Mercenaries during the Cash Extraction event at Fortune’s Keep.

Warzone’s devs also confirmed that they will be taking sunlight to Caldera, and you can also check out how to unlock new Ultra Weapon camos later in the season.
