The Great War in game form

Table of Contents[Hide][Show]

WWI is known as “The War To End All Wars,” but in the world of video games, that war never ends. So if you have a PS5, you might want to check this out.

#7 Brave hearts

One thing that is often lost in war stories is the true story of what people are like in the trenches, in battle, and so on. And in Valiant Hearts, you get to have it your own way. In this comic-style adventure, you’ll play as a set of characters trying to survive the war and find safety with the guidance of their loyal dog.

You have to solve puzzles, go through war zones and complete a story that ties everyone together in ways you wouldn’t expect. This is a story-driven war game, so don’t miss it

#6 Verdun

If there’s one thing to remember about wars, it’s that battles help define wars, not just winners and losers. If we were to say WWI or WWII, you could easily name a significant battle that helped “turn the tide” in certain ways or was famous for having a large number of casualties.

For example Verdun was a bloody battle in 1916 and is one of the most infamous battles of all time. Now, you can take part in the battle to see what it was like, fighting other players in a realistic setting and tone so you can feel what the war was like.

So get into the trenches and see what Verdun has to offer you.

#5 Tannenberg

Or, if you want another, but different, look at this war, you can check out Tannenberg. This time you will be on the eastern front of the war and you will have to capture key positions to win the next battles.

We’ve mentioned before that this line of games offers multiplayer combat, but it’s much more than that. You will face a total of 64 players trying to score points on the map to win. And with over 50 different weapons you can use, you’ll be able to take down our enemies up close or from afar.

Experience this battleground for yourself and see how long you can last in this battle.

#4 Battlefield 1

The Battlefield series doesn’t always impress in terms of their quality, but Battlefield 1 is an exception to that rule. Because going back to The Great War, you will get a visually stunning experience of World War I and also enjoy a deep singleplayer and multiplayer experience.

Because in this title, you get to see the true birth of “All Out War” and witness first hand how the atmosphere on the battlefield changes when things start to escalate. And for this you won’t just walk, you’ll get to drive a variety of vehicles that can change the game.

Then, jump into multiplayer and see for yourself what awaits you as you battle against others.

#3 Isonzo

what is it Do you want games like Verdun and Tannenberg? Luckily for you, there’s another one coming in that line called Isonzo.

So, what is this about? Well, you might not know this, but one major battle in WWI lasted more than two years. It was in the valley of the Isonzo River and the attempt and struggle for control of the main part of the Alps in the Italian theater.

Now, you will literally be sent up a mountain and try to get to higher ground (no Obi-Wan jokes please) and have to do it one hill at a time. It won’t be easy, and enemies will be all around you, but just like those WWI soldiers, the mission has to be successful and only you can do it.

#2 11-11 Memories Retold

As mentioned earlier, what is sometimes lost in these war games are the people who tried so hard to bring peace to the world and are trying to survive what is to come. 11-11 Memories Retold is one such game that tries to capture those stories and does so in a very memorable visual style.

In this game, you will play as two very different men, Harry and Kurt, the former is a Canadian photographer assigned to a war front, while the other is a man who is told his son is missing.

Both have missions that they are trying to accomplish and they are both trying to survive. Go inside and witness their stories for yourself and see the true cost of war.

#1 Toy Soldier

If some of these games are a bit “heavy” for you, then you’re in luck, because Toy Soldiers is a title where you play literally as toy soldiers, not as actual soldiers from history. which stands on the playground which is decorated like the battles of WWI.

Now, you will take control of these soldiers and do your best to defeat your opponents. You need to be strategic and avoid machine gun nests, pilot planes etc.

They may be toys, but that doesn’t mean you have to break them all…especially yours.
