Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 continues to be dominated by assault rifles, so we’ve put each assault rifle on a ranked list and counted the top ARs you can run in Caldera and Rebirth Island.
Assault rifles are an important part of the Call of Duty. Able to handle serious losses in almost any category, they are a go-to for most players. They are especially prominent in Warzone for their versatility and through the Gunsmith system, you can customize them to your liking.
With each season and update, Warzone’s meta changes. In the June 30 and July 7 updates, Raven Software used meta-weapons, yet there is a gun. However, season 4 still has plenty of viable assault rifles.
Here is a ranked list of each AR as well as a summary of the best assault rifles from Warzone Pacific Season 4.
Ranked list of the best Warzone Assault Rifles
Call of Duty: This is our comprehensive list of each AR in Warzone, and we rank them in ascending order to let you know which ones are best to use.
While Vanguard, Modern Warfare, and Cold War Gun have the same distribution, you will find that Vanguard weapons make the most of meta-pics. However, some solid MW and Cold War guns make the top 10 if you want to use them instead.

Best Warzone Assault Rifles
5. KG M40
Warzone players love low-recoil assault rifles, and the KG M40 rarely has one. While it doesn’t have the most incredible stats, the KG M40 is so easy to use that you won’t bother taking shots.
The bullet speed of the KG M40 is high and it damages a ton of headshots, but when hitting body shots it is prevented by low TTK. If the NZ-41 ever sees a significant nerf, this assault rifle is a strong contender for the meta spot.
Modern Warfare weapons have always been a favorite of fans due to their modern aesthetic and realistic animation, and the M13 is a great way to evoke the nostalgia of the modern war season.
The M13 has statistics matching the best assault rifles on the list, only to be hampered by the loss of its counter-maggie, where you will see that your ammunition runs out quickly. But, take the M13 in singles or in pairs and you will use one of the best assault rifles in the game.
3. Cooper Carbine
The Cooper carbine was a popular choice due to its high fire rate and low recoil, and has remained a great choice for mid-range fights.
Cooper’s bullet speed isn’t the highest, so you won’t enjoy the players in Caldera, but take it to Fortune Keep or Rebirth Island and you’ll have a fantastic assault rifle in your hand. If you have something with more range, we recommend BAR, which is next.
BAR was a meta weapon when Warzone Pacific first launched in December 2021 and cemented itself into the meta before season 4.
Its slow fire rate makes it slightly unforgivable, but landing your shots will completely eliminate players. It also has extremely low recoil, where you don’t have to move your mouse or thumbstick to keep it stable.
Although a bit slow for Rebirth Island and Fortune Keep, Caldera will have some weapons that will be able to repel it.
1. NZ-41 – The best assault rifle in Warzone
Vanguard’s NZ-41 assault rifle was almost completely ignored until the June 2 update where it received a game-changing overhaul and has been the best and most popular weapon in the game ever since.
Although Raven reduced it to three updates in a row, the NZ-41 is still the best assault rifle in the game due to its low recoil and high zoom. It is Warzone’s easiest weapon so far and needs another significant weapon to knock it off its back.
Bring any of these to the AR Caldera in Warzone Pacific Season 4 and you’ll see some of the best Warzone Assault Rifles in Call of Duty’s Battle Royale.
