God of War Ragnarok: What’s the story?
The story of God of War Ragnarok follows the events of the previous game. Ragnarok, the world-final battle foretold by the Norse gods, is on its way, and Cratos and Atrius must prepare by visiting each of the nine regions. While Atreus seeks out who he is and sees the Asgardian god, the father and son pair make new friends and more enemies as they try to stop Ragnarok. However, tensions are rising; While Cratos has spent many years recovering from his blood-soaked past, Atrius has argued that battle is inevitable.
God of War Ragnarok: Do you need to play previous God of War games to understand the story?
You probably don’t have to worry about playing Greek-era God of War titles, because the Norse games are so far away and mostly tell a different story. However, if you haven’t encountered God of War Ragnarok, we encourage you to play God of War (2018).
While this is not entirely necessary, playing the last game before the sequel will give you a lot of information and knowledge related to Ragnarok. Fortunately, God of War (2018) is widely available. The game is available for purchase on PS4 and PC and is also included PS Plus Collection If you have a PS5. Moreover, the game is part of it PS Plus Extra.
If you don’t have time to play the previous game before God of War Ragnarok, tune in for a recap of the entire story that runs through all the major descriptive beats leading up to the sequel. We will update this page when it becomes available.
God of War Ragnarok: What is Ragnarok?
In Norse mythology, the name Ragnarok is given to such a terrible war that it destroys the world. The god of Asgard fights against the demons of Jotunheim. The prophecies say that this is inevitable and will lead to the death of many important people as well as natural disasters. This is a big deal, in other words, and in this game, Kratos and Atreus are trying to stop this from happening.
God of War Ragnarok: What gods and characters do you meet?
God of War Ragnarok is set in a world of Norse mythology, as established in the last game. In that previous entry, we meet many gods and other notable characters, including:
- Magni and Modi
- Brock and Cindy
- Jörmungandr, World Snake
The other tires indicated throughout the game are Thor, Odin and Odin. Like Angraboda and Darlin, all three will make their debut in Ragnarok.
God of War Ragnarok: What are the new gameplay features?
While God of War Ragnarok will play the same as the previous game, there will be one or two new things to enjoy. The first thing that comes to mind is riding a wolf-drawn sled to get around the frozen lake of nine. Details of the next gameplay are currently thin, but we’ll update this page when more is revealed.
God of War Ragnarok: Is the game shot in a single take?
God of War (2018) was rather unique because the entire game was presented in a single, flowing camera shot that would be woven around the action but never a harsh cut. It has been confirmed that God of War Ragnarok will follow this direction, with an unbroken shot after the action throughout the game.
