The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snacks artists are on the rise, with more stars signing up with prequel Tom Blyth and Rachel Ziegler.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snacks takes place almost 10 years after the war that created the Panam of the Hunger Games lure. The upcoming film adaptation is expected to be significantly different from the original films, as the games will be viewed from a completely new perspective in a period that is considered “less glamorous”.
The story takes place around the 10th Annual Hunger Games when a young Coriolanus is selected as a guide for Snowla District 12 Tribute, Lucy Gray Baird. According to the official summary, the two will try to turn the tide in their favor by combining “their showmanship and new political savvy” in the race for survival.
Francis Lawrence, director of Catching Fire, MockingJay Part 1 and MockingJay Part 2, is returning to the franchise to direct and produce a screenplay prequel to Assassin’s Creed writer Michael Leslie. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are also on board as producers, Tim Pallen and author Suzanne Collins are executive producers.
