Home games against Indiana, Seton Hall and Harvard, road races against Kentucky and Missouri, neutral site battles against Duke and a trip to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament will shed light on Kansas’ 2022-23 men’s basketball non-conference schedule, announced Tuesday. .
Defending national champion Jehox will meet Duke at the Champions Classic on November 15 in Indianapolis. The classic won’t signal the start of the college basketball season this year.
KU will play an exhibition game against Pittsburgh State at Alan Fieldhouse on November 2, followed by a home game against North Dakota State on November 10, ahead of the Omaha and Duke games on November 7.
After the home game against Southern Utah on November 18, the Jayhawks will take part in Battle 4 Atlantis on November 23-25 at Paradise Island, Bahamas. Fields include KU, Butler, BYU, Dayton, North Carolina State, USC, Tennessee and Wisconsin, and matchups are yet to be announced.
There will be a home game against Texas Southern on November 28, a home game against Seton Hall on December 1, followed by a Border War match against Missouri in Colombia on December 10. Thereafter, KU returns home to visit Indiana on December 17 and Harvard on December 22.
KU will travel to Kentucky on January 28th.
The schedule for the 2022-23 Big 12 Conference will begin on December 31st. The league has not yet released its schedule.
The Big 12 tournament will be held March 8-11, 2023 at the T-Mobile Center. T-Mobile Center will host the Midwest Regional Semifinals and Final Games of the NCAA Tournament on March 24 and 26. However, KU will not play regular season games in the building this season. KU has played regular-season games at the T-Mobile Center (Sprint Center) every year since 1997-98, with the exception of the COVID-19-affected season of 2020-21.
Games against Missouri for the 2025-26 and 26-27 seasons will be held at the T-Mobile Center.
Regarding KU’s non-conference schedule, KU coach Bill Self said: “Once again we have a non-conference schedule that should prepare us for what would be another strong Big 12 schedule. This is a very attractive home schedule with games against Indiana and Seton Hall. The Duke in the Champions Classic in Indianapolis and Road Games in Missouri and Kentucky are also mixed. Battle 4 Atlantis is a stacked field that includes USC, Tennessee and Wisconsin. They, along with the Big 12, make it a very competitive schedule and if we do well, it will increase the chances for our second top NCAA Tournament seed. ”
