Death Rider hosts the GCW World Championships after losing to Matt Cardona at the Art of War Games on September 4, 2021. The 36-year-old has so far defended five successful titles against legendary names like Nick Gage and Homicide.
Moxley’s fairy tale run is reaching 300 days with the GCW World Championship, which will be the fourth-longest state in title history.
Earlier this year, Christian named Moxley his Bucket List Dream opponent. The former NXT superstar will finally fulfill his wish next month in the biggest match of his career so far.
What’s next for John Moxley in AEW?
With one more month left for Mox’s upcoming GCW World Championship defense, he has big things to do in the next few weeks.
After defeating Casino Battle Royale winner Kyle O’Reilly on Dynamite a few weeks ago, John Moxley pulled out tickets for the upcoming AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door.
In the absence of CM Punk, he will face Hiroshi Tanahashi for the crown of Interim AEW World Champion. Recently, two enemies clashed on the Road Razor Edition, which was ended by the Jericho Appreciation Society attacking both of them.
It will be interesting to see how the match between Mox and Tanahashi unfolds before their marquee match-up on June 26.
